I thought I’d just shoot out this blast,

            About Rudy Giuliani’s past,

Written when mayor was his job,

            Using tactics like a capo in the mob.

RUDY’S NEW YORK

It really is a terrible pity,

            What has happened to New York City,

The city which was once the most progressive,

            Has now become the most oppressive,

David Dinkens was a really nice guy,

            But because of bad decisions people did die,

Perceived after that to be for anarchy,

            Which led to Giuliani’s tyranny,

Rudy’s really nobody’s honey,

            He only likes those who give him money,

From the rest he takes with his unjust fines,

            Whatever you do he’s got designs,

For everything good he takes the credit,

            But that’s just with a major edit,

He likes to tell us all the time,

            That he’s the one who cut the crime,

But take a good look if you dare,

            Crime has dropped just about everywhere,

His Police Commissioner Howard Safir,

            Who’s shallow as a paper thin wafer, 

For it seems his contribution’s been,

            The terror squads that are such a sin,

Who kill and maim the urban poor,

            We’ve seen enough of that for sure,

So why are many of the middle class enamored?

            “Because cops aren’t shooting at us”, one stammered,

Do we really have to mention,

            How much Rudy contributes to racial tension?

He would separate a mother from her child,

            Isn’t that just a bit too wild?

The livelihood from street vendors he takes,

            Now you can’t even get scallion cakes,

All cabbies may not drive too well,

            But they really don’t deserve Rudy’s hell,

No longer is privacy sacred here,

            He’s got cameras in Washington Square,

Even personal records are closed no more,

            For Rudy puts himself above the law,

He dictates to the world of art,

            An area in which he has no part,

Public education he tries to destroy,

            Depriving every girl and boy,

Railing against the public schools,

            He tries to make teachers look the fools,

Intolerant of the opinions of others,

            They’d disappear if he had his druthers,

The first amendment he’ll regularly breech,

            By making every effort to stifle free speech,

Rudy claims that he put the mob down,

            But with the very same tactics he rules this town,

Running the city with an iron hand,

            Where is our freedom in this land?

It’s become apparent to many a mind,

            That Mussolini and Hitler are more his kind,

Ah, so that is just the rub,

            He really represents beelzebub,

That’s why ever more people feel,

            “Il Duce” Giuliani is a really bad deal.

Please correct me if I’m in error,

            But for many Rudy’s term has been a reign of terror

Rudy’s masters were the very wealthy,

            At first they kept him looking healthy,

But when he failed to do them right,

            And he made many very uptight,

Term limits were imposed and he was replaced,

            By a much smarter tyrant with great haste,

The wounds left behind for long did fester,

            And now he’s become Donald Trump’s court jester.
