The form of these poems may be very trite,
Maybe though you’ll see the light,
However even if you believe they stink,
Hopefully they’ll still make you think!
The path to truth you can find,
As long as you keep an open mind.
A few rhymes to take note,
Before going to vote.
THE TRUTH WHEN IN THE VOTING BOOTH
OUR VOTE
There must be something wrong with our intellect,
When you look at some of those we elect,
They say that government should be out of our lives,
Yet they’d take away choices from our wives,
They also want prayers in our schools,
Didn’t the Constitution set down some rules?
But they’ll allow the money boys,
To treat us as if we were merely toys,
Still we vote for these guys,
As if to them we had actual ties,
To save our nation we’d better take note,
And learn the real issues before we vote.
BEING INFORMED
The problem with hearing it in a sound bite,
Is that it’s nothing more than info lite,
If we really want to know,
Much further than that we have to go.
WITHOUT A CLUE
Once I made a mental note,
That so many people don’t know how to vote,
Instead of dealing with real issues,
They’re pliable as toilet tissues,
Still they love to yell and scream,
Like they’re rooting for a football team,
They argue though they don’t have a clue,
About what’s best for me and you,
But what they’re saying you will find,
Is just drivel from an addled mind.
PRIORITIES
Isn’t our society immersed in insanity,
When priority is profit instead of humanity?
As primitive as it may seem,
Barbaric behavior often gets esteem.
WE ELECT THEM
The greatest problem with the political species,
Is that so many are bloated with feces.
THE HERD
When I think I have to weep,
So many can be herded just like sheep,
As long as their bellies are kept full,
They’ll accept virtually any bull.
